Toronto Police homicide investigators held an update on the shooting death of Neeko Mitchell. The 25-year-old was gunned down outside the North Kipling Community Centre on Sunday, November 24th. An indoor basketball tournament was taking place at the time.
Investigators have now released the photos of three suspects. Two men and one woman were captured on surveillance cameras at the community centre and police believe they are involved in Mitchell's murder.
Mitchell was gunned down just moments after arriving at the tournament to watch a relative play. Detective Sergeant Brian Borg says the 25-year-old had absolutely no chance of surviving considering he was shot numerous times with high velocity ammunition. In fact every single bullet that hit Neeko Mitchell passed through his body.
Although a large number of people were both inside and outside of the community centre at the time of the shooting, only a "small group" of witnesses have come forward.
Police are appealing for other witnesses who were at the community centre that night to call them.
The tournament that was taking place at the time of the murder was supposed to run until December 29th, but has been suspended.
Newstalk 1010 will post the photos of the suspects as soon as Toronto Police make them available.
