Doug Ford is denying that his brother used heroin while in office and is also shooting down new allegations that suggest he may have regularly associated with gang members.
Ford made the comments in what was essentially a ten-minute diatribe Friday at City Hall.
Questioned by reporters, Ford blasted Toronto media outlets, unnamed opponents, the police chief, and seemed to suggest that the timing of the release of police documents was planned to make Mayor Rob Ford look bad.
Ford said negative press coverage of his brother is "Soviet Stalin-era Pravda journalism" and that journalists want to "execute" the Mayor.
"If there was a rope here you'd bring him out into the middle of the square and hang him up," said Ford. "I know you would."
Doug Ford ripped Police Chief Bill Blair saying he "has an agenda in my opinion to get rid of the Mayor.,
Ford also questioned the roll out of police documents that detail serious allegations against the Mayor.
"Isn't it amazing how all this timing took place? In my opinion folks this is a clear agenda, very well organized agenda from some of our competitors. In my opinion, they don't want Rob Ford here."
