As the budget committee continues debating how the city spends your money next year, one councillor is taking issue with the Ford brothers voting on the police budget.
Councillor Michael Thompson, vice-chair of the police board, says mayor Rob Ford and councillor Doug Ford should declare a conflict-of-interest on the police budget because of their fued with the police chief.
Over the past few weeks, mayor Ford has accused chief Bill Blair of being political and councillor Ford has called on him to resign.
"I don't understand how you could then say you're able to look at the policing budget and deal with this particular issue in a fair and biased way," Thompson says.
Councillor Ford dismissed the suggestion.
"Oh, councillor Thompson's playing politics again," councillor Ford says. "Look under the definition of conflict."
Councillor Ford went on to say he thinks the police chief started the fued.
"It wasn't me that went out first. I think he has a conflict," he says of Blair.
