Young boy dies in Hamilton industrial area

Paramedics say he was struck by piece of steel

Paramedics say a six-year-old boy is dead after a piece of steel fell on him in Hamilton.

The incident occurred in one of the city's industrial area near Gerrard Street and Sherman Avenue North Sunday afternoon.

Paramedics say the boy was without vital signs when emergency crews arrived at the scene. 

The boy suffered severe head trauma and a broken leg.

He was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

    How was it that this boy was in an industrial area unsupervised? (Or, was this just a terrible accident on a major street?)
