Delays Forcing GO to Pay Up

Report says GO transit has had to cough up near $475K to riders over the past year.

It seem GO Transit’s 15-minute guarantee is costing the province, and thus you, the taxpayer big time.

According to a report in the Toronto Sun delayed trains have lead to nearly $475,000 in refunded fares over the past year.

The refund is only available to passengers if their train is delayed by 15 minutes or more, and if the delay is within the control of GO Transit.

Although the amount of refunded fares may seem high, it is still less than the estimated $1-milion the government believed GO would have to refund in any given year.

According to the report in the Toronto Sun, GO trains are on time about 96% of the time.

I'm sure the Liberanos are on the case to get that lost money back. Because God forgive, that we should the bang for our buck. Or that we should get our money back, if the service isn't up to par- as advertised.
