What the Tories would sell for transit

Leader Tim Hudak says his transit priority would be a downtown relief line (DRL)

The province's Tories say Ontario needs to focus on city building if they expect jobs to come its way.

Tim Hudak is hoping to break through Fortress Toronto even further during the next provincial election which is why his plan includes a LIST of local goodies, including his priority - a downtown relief line.

Hudak's vision for the GTA transit also includes extending the subway to Richmond Hill and Mississauga.

The PC leader says he wouldn't pay for it through taxes but rather selling of land and buildings, like the LCBO headquarters.

He also says there are jobs to cut in the public sector in order to get extra cash. He would also freeze the roll-out of full-day kindergarten.

Well, he seems to be hitting a lot of the right talking points.. ditching all day babysitting, and providing a downtown relief line, which is more important than a Scarborough subway. About the only thing you can argue about is the validity of his plans for paying for it. And maybe if he personally is the right man to lead the party.

@Angry Bill Not a fan of Tim cutting all-day Kindergarten- as that's exactly what I'm going to be using next year.
But even then, if it means eventually getting the Liberals out, then go for it.

    Tim is kidding right?
sell off buildings, lay off citizens (ei costs/welfare costs) and the transit fairy will sprinkle free $$. that's his 50 yr big move transit plan.
There's a reason why Tim and his old white gang of merry men reside on the sidelines.
    We're hearing it.

YES. A thousand times yes. Cut redundancy in the public sector, and use the savings to build things we actually need. That is how to responsibly use tax dollars, and that is how Hudak is getting my vote in the next election.

Let's send Wynne out on her ass in the wake of a big Blue wave sweeping into Queen's Park!

They should just expand GO train access in Richmond Hill. Its a heck of a lot cheaper than building the subway up there.
