Many fans of singer Bieber are feeling a little pre-occupied over the holidays.
They're trying to figure out what to make of a Christmas Eve tweet from the singer saying he was "officially retiring".
But Bieber muddied the waters by following up with a tweet to his fans that included a promise that he would never leave them.
Bieber's website makes no mention of a retirement and his publicist had no comment on the tweet.
Last week Bieber mused about retirement in an interview with a Los Angeles radio station, but his manager said shortly after the singer was just going to take a break.
But his fans took to Twitter to express their anxiety, with one saying if the Stratford, Ontario native was retiring she would "retire from living."
Not everyone was bemoaning the possibility of Bieber departing the sound stage, with one tweeting in response to the retirement comment that "there is a Santa."
On Tuesday, Bieber released his fifth album in four years, the six song "Journals". His second concert film/biopic "Believe" hit theatres on Christmas Day.
