Blood Donors Down During Ice Storm

Canadian Blood Services says it's hurting for donations.

Thanks to the ice storm, and subsequent power outage Canadian Blood Services says it's hurting for donations.

During the outage Canadian Blood Services spokesperson Jennifer Mayhew says they had to cancel appointments due to their own outages, as well as some centres being used as warming centres.

She says they lost what would amount to about a days worth of donations in all.

Mayhew says this time of the year is usually toughest for donations because of the holidays, but also because there are more people on the roads, and more traumatic incidents requiring surgery.

While all donors are welcome she says donors with O-Negative Blood are needed because they can be used for every patient.

Clinics will be closed New Years Day, but they have permanent sites and mobile sites open today, and back again on January 2nd and on into the new year.

I'm making $86 an hour working from home. I was shocked when my neighbour told me she was averaging $95 but I see how it works now. I feel so much freedom now that I'm my own boss. This is what I do, www.Best96.com
