Grocery gift cards being handed out to Toronto families

Program is aimed at low-income residents who lost food to power outages in the wake of December's ice storm

The City of Toronto begins distributing food gift cards along with the provincial government today.

This is aimed primarily at low income residents -- $100 dollar gift cards for families and $50 dollars for individuals.

There are 15 locations in Toronto where you can pick up the card.

Immediately after the January 10th special meeting of Toronto city council to deal with a mounting compensation request to Queen's Park, the city's emergency response committee will meet for a post-mortem focused on how to improve the plan for the next time there is a weather-related calamity.

Unelected Premier Wynne hands out groceries and gift cards paid for by the taxpayers, including those who lost power outside the City of Toronto to the needs and the leftist media wants to make her a saint.
Doug Ford gives out some much appreciated small tokens of cash to the truly needy - and the same leftist media want to burn him on a stake.

About 400,000 Ontarians lost power. Lets say that is 200,000 families. At $100 per family, that means the program should have about $20M in it.
It actually only has $200k, or 1% of what it should have.

In her attempts to buy votes, Wynne has looked extremely foolish in not being able to plan the simplest things or do the simplest financial calculations. How much more evidence is needed that these Liberals are totally incompetent.
