York Police Look For Witnesses of Shooting

One person suffered gun shot wounds after shooting in a Vaughan Intersection

Officer in York Region are looking for witnesses following a shooting in Vaughan.

Police were called out to a report of shots fired near Steeles Rd. and Highway 50 around 11:50 Monday night.

Shortly after, police located a 24 year old man, who was in an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It appears that at least two vehicles were stopped in the intersection when shots were fired into the victim's vehicle.  The suspect vehicle - a white panel van - was last seen fleeing north on Highway 50.

Investigators believe there were other vehicles at the intersection at the time of the shooting, and would like to talk to anyone who may have seen the incident.
