Extreme Cold and Icy conditions trigger school bus cancellations
However, most schools remain open...

School boards across the GTA cancelled school bus service Tuesday morning because of cold temperatures and icy conditions.

Here's the complete list:

 

  • Toronto District School Board - buses have been cancelled, schools are open but there are no classes at the Island School

 

  • Toronto Catholic District School Board - buses have been cancelled, schools are open

 

  • Dufferin-Peel Catholic School Board - all buses are cancelled, schools are open exept in Orangeville

 

  • Peel Distrcit School Board - buses are cancelled, schools are open

 

  • York Region District and Catholic School Boards - bus, van and taxi services cancelled, schools remain open

 

  • Halton School Board - buses are delayed - some as much as an hour (specific routes) but none are cancelled, schools are open

 

  • Durham District and Catholic School Boards - schools are open, buses are running but expect some delays (specific routes)

 

  • Simcoe County District School Board has closed all schools, before and after-school programs cancelled.

 

  • Niagara Public and Catholic School Board - buses cancelled, schools are open

 

  • Kleinburg Christian Academy and Early Learning Centre both closed Toronto Waldorf School in Thornhill is closed

 

  • Rowntree Montessori School in Brampton - buses are cancelled, school is open

 

  • Georgian College says all campuses are closed because of weather conditions

    Not sure why newstalk 1010 doesn't cover Upper Grand District School Board in their report, but UGDSB is on a system shut down. All buses and taxis are cancelled and all schools and board offices are closed. No staff or students are to report to school.
