OPP Launch Attempted Murder investigation after wrong way crash

One person found on the side of the 401, believed to have been pushed from a moving car...

One person is in custody and a second is in hospital after a puzzling incident along the 401 westbound near Cambridge on Wednesday.

It started around 5:30 with calls to police about a car going the wrong way on the highway.

That driver was stopped by police near Highway 6, and while an officer was speaking with him, he tried to get away, eventually crashing into a marked police cruiser.

Sgt Dave Woodford with the OPP says it wasn't until later, did they discover a second scene, further west.

That's where they found a second person on the side of the road, believed to have been pushed out of the vehicle.

Woodford says they've now launched an attempted murder investigation, but so far no charges have been laid.

Both the driver of the car and the victim were taken to hospital, the victim with serious injuries.
