Peel Police are on the lookout for a white Hyundai Genesis or similar car after an elderly man was killed in a hit and run Saturday evening.

Around 6:30 p.m., an 82-year-old man was crossing the street at Goreway and Morningstar Drive when he was struck.

According to Peel Police, the driver of the car sped off and made no effort to help the man.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead. He's been identified as Jong Joo Park of Mississauga.

Investigators believe the suspect is driving a white Hyundai Genesis or a similar car.

They are asking residents and body shops to have an eye out for this type of car, which may have significant damage to its front end and windshield.

And Peel Police have a message for the driver. "Come forward," says Cst. Thomas Ruttan. "The family has to have some closure here, this is an absolutely horrible time for them."
