Protests are continuing in Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, after an opposition leader rejected the president's offer to appoint him as prime minister.

Opposition leader Arseniy Yatsenyuk says several key demands have to be met first, including new elections.

Protestors are calling on president Viktor Yanukovych to resign.

"No deal , we're finishing what we started. The people decide our leaders, not you," Yatsenyuk tweeted.

Clashes have continued today. Protestors stormed a government building in Kyiv with police inside. The demonstrators allowed officers to leave peacefully and then occupied the building.

The Ukrainian community in Toronto will hold a rally today in support of the protests. The event will take place outside city hall, starting at 3 p.m.
