UPDATE: OPP officer injured in crash

Crash happened on County Road 109, west of Orangeville....

An OPP officer has been injured after her cruiser was struck by a tractor trailer west of Orangeville.

Sgt. Peter Leon says a land ambulance took the officer to hospital. She was conscious after the accident and her injuries are not life-threatening.

Leon says she was stopped at the side of the road, investigating a jack-knifed tractor trailer.

It happened on County Road 109 near the 9th line of Dufferin County just before 1 o'clock.

Police are investigating.

But Leon says it's actually the second collision involving an OPP cruiser to happen northwest of Toronto on Wednesday.

He says a different officer escaped injury, after their vehicle was involved in a crash between Shelburne and Orangeville.

That collision was also blamed on poor driving conditions.
