Environment Canada warns of snow & freezing rain

The weather agency says the system will impact Southern Ontario this weekend

This weather system could throw a kink into your weekend plans.

Environment Canada has issued a "special weather statement" for much of Southern Ontario, including Toronto and the GTA.

A low pressure system from the U.S. is moving in on Saturday and could affect your drive into Sunday morning as well.

The weather agency says the system is uncertain, but it could mean areas south of a line from Goderich to Kingston will get snow changing to rain with a risk of freezing rain, then back to snow again.

Areas further north, will likely see up to 15 centimetres of snow.

It warns that the system could still change within the next day.
