Intentionally set fire kills father, son

Men died of smoke inhalation

Toronto Police say a Scarborough house fire that killed a father and his adult son was intentionally set.

87-year-old John Aguiar and 55-year-old Avelino Aguiar were found dead inside a burning home on Jeffton Cr in the Ellesmere Rd and Scarborough Golf Club Rd area Wednesday afternoon.

Police allege Avelino Aguiar set fire to the place on purpose. They can't be sure if he intended to kill himself.

Both men died of smoke inhalation.

Police have classified John Aguiar's death a murder and consider the case closed.
