Crews work to restore power to area of Markham

About 2,500 customers remain in the dark

A downed hydro poll is to blame for a power outage in Markham Thursday morning.

About 2,500 customers near Major Mackenzie Drive and McCowan Road are affected.

PowerStream says crews are working on the problem and are aiming to have power restored by 6:30 a.m.

Major Mackenzie Dr. is closed between Markham Road and McCowan Road for work.

At one point, 7,500 customers were in the dark.
