The Toronto Star is reporting Mayor Rob Ford was "talking gibberish'' and appeared impaired at a Vancouver-area pub last weekend, just hours after he received a ticket for jaywalking.
An eyewitness tells the Star, the mayor spent over an hour in the small staff bathroom at the pub and emerged just after 2 a.m., incoherent and twitchy.
The witness told the newspaper that it took some time before Ford was able to speak to restaurant staff coherently and says he ordered rounds of beers, rum-and-cokes and shots with three people.
The Star said it was unable to independently verify the source's allegations that Ford consumed alcohol at the Foggy Dew, and said the pub didn't responded to questions about Ford's conduct or about allegedly serving alcohol after hours.
In November, the mayor publicly declared he was done with drinking but last month, a video of Ford mumbling and slurring at Etobicoke's Steak Queen surfaced.
He admitted to having a few drinks that night. He called it a minor setback, done on his own personal time.
Requests for comment from the Mayor's Office have not been returned.
