Unnamed eyewitness tells the paper Ford enjoyed drinks at Foggy Dew pub

The Toronto Star is reporting Mayor Rob Ford was "talking gibberish'' and appeared impaired at a Vancouver-area pub last weekend, just hours after he received a ticket for jaywalking.

An eyewitness tells the Star, the mayor spent over an hour in the small staff bathroom at the pub and emerged just after 2 a.m., incoherent and twitchy.

The witness told the newspaper that it took some time before Ford was able to speak to restaurant staff coherently and says he ordered rounds of beers, rum-and-cokes and shots with three people.

The Star said it was unable to independently verify the source's allegations that Ford consumed alcohol at the Foggy Dew, and said the pub didn't responded to questions about Ford's conduct or about allegedly serving alcohol after hours.

In November, the mayor publicly declared he was done with drinking but last month, a video of Ford mumbling and slurring at Etobicoke's Steak Queen surfaced.

He admitted to having a few drinks that night. He called it a minor setback, done on his own personal time.

Requests for comment from the Mayor's Office have not been returned.

First it was after meeting Lisi at The Steak Queen, now this. What happened to his Come to Jesus moment? Poor guy, can't get high without it being reported in the press

if the Star is reporting this you know it's money in the bank.
I'm starting to feel for his kids. Politics aside
If they're asking questions where is dad? how come he's not home where is he?
are his kids being lied to also?
who would act this way? a family man. It's disgracefull
the man is a mess the best thing to happen is the city divorces itself from this family and wish him well

@arthur Another Ford Haters Club member. You never get drunk? Yea right! Whereas I can say I never do, as I do not drink. Yet I still say mind your own business and get a life. What Rob does on his own time is none of anyone's business.

The bigger disgrace is hypocrites like you.

@Mark7 So why was being served at 2:43 when bars in Vancover close at 2:00? His poor wife and kids.

@Mark7 you must not be a parent of young children.
If this kind of dysfunction is happening in this family children the age of his are probably aware and scared.
they are old enough to see things. Trauma in kids lasts.
Let me ask you how low are your standards in people that you get defensive over this type of behaviour?
Does Ford have to get hurt or hurt someone else before it registers?
Ford is probably stoned jaywalking across the street. split second the lady is not paying attention driving and his kids have no father.

@Sam The lynch mob at the Star are losing many customers over their disgraceful hounding of the mayor. I canceled our lifelong subscription long ago because of this.

In answer to your questions, sadly many fathers are not thinking of their family, yet are not under unabashed surveillance. So why is Rob being hung by people? Some I am sure are doing the same things.

I give you credit for not being abusive in your reply, as most who dislike Ford do not offer said courtesy. These types, like donny p, are too low brow for my liking.

@Mark7 attack him? I'm pissed off at complete disrespect for the city for the people. disrespect for his family and himself. I like absolutely nothing about this man. I just pity him. feel for his kids.
It's not the star dude who is pathological liars. . Your anger is in the wrong place.
Be angry that he can possibly kill one of your family members or someone else's family member.
sadly I think that's what will take reading you and others.

@Mark7 Where do I get a membership to the Ford Haters Club? Do I have to undergo an initiation -like being at the Steak Queen during a tirade or locking myself in a tiny bar washroom and learning fluent gibberish? Or do I just have to hang out with career criminals and smoke crack? Is there a cost to being a member -other than the wrath of Ford Nation? Please advise. I want to join.

@danieljchristie Just like all Ford Haters Club members you assume he was on crack. Is there any shame in you people?

The next antiFord propaganda from day without it. Who pays your station to do this?

@Starchild Kinda funny.. Half the people bash 1010 for being pro Ford, the other half bash them for being anti Ford.

    talking gibberish?
what's so unusual about that? that's his normal self.
no..seriously talking gibberish the star says he was continuously scratching his stones or his neck and chest something like that. maybe he has fleas?
It said his hands were also continuously twitching.
I think I know what it is . yup! Possession. Rob is possessed.
an exorcism should clear it right up..

Please, please, re-elect Rob Ford! What will the Republic of Toronto's press, radio stations and other media outlets do? It is worth the entertainment value alone!

@Mike from the hinterland It's not slapstick, more like a Greek tragedy. Rob Ford displays all of the classic symptoms of crack addiction, the sweaty shakes, the delirium after smoking up, the crash after 30 minutes, and the need for alcohol to temper the effects of coming down. Crack is a massive immediate high, far stronger than opiates, but only lasts for about a half hour...the crash is just as massive.

Reports are that he spent time in the washroom at The Steak Queen and The Foggy Dew and then became incoherent. Same thing at 3030 Dundas where he picked up his dope and then left, but called in sick the next day.

Like all addicts, his real damage is done to his family and job...does anyone wonder why people with substance abuse problems end up divorced, unemployed, and broke after a few years. A walk by the corner of Queen E. and Sherbourne will reveal a lot of former Rob Fords. My only concern is why his family continues to protect him. Doug needs him to further his own political ambitions, his sister is a former addict herself, and mum is in denial. But someone should convince him to get help. Most corporate group plans have options for therapy and rehab, I'm sure his city and Deco plan has the same coverage. The real tragedy is what he's doing to his family, friends, and the city, making them watch while he self destructs.

@HP The crack high lasts 5 minutes not 30 minutes. If you are going to act like a communist and convict Rob of crack smoking without the proof, at least get your facts straight on the drug.
    3. HP posted on 02/09/2014 03:03 PM
@Mark7 I long were Rob Ford's rants? About 5 minutes? the "rush" is about 5 minutes, maybe 10, the high lasts about 30 minutes before "the crash". I speak from experience.

Go to YouTube, do a search on crack addicts, listen to what they say and how they act. Rob Ford could have made those, perhaps he will on his new show.

It's the aggression as they crash that reminds me of the mayor. He really does need an intervention before he hurts someone that cares for him.

@HP I sincerely hope you have been able to get off the drug, sir.

Yep and the Coquitlam restaurant could have by-law and license problems because of the appearance of their guest star.
