He has spent 11 years at Toronto city hall, but Councillor Mike Del Grande is ready to step away.

The former budget chief says he will not run for re-election in Ward 39 (Scarborough/Agincourt) in October.

Del Grande told the Toronto Sun that he believes in term limits, and "once you've been there a decade, you either make the changes or you don't."

Del Grande had served as Mayor Rob Ford's budget chief for the first two years of his term. He resigned after expressing frustration with amendments made to the 2013 budget.
