The GTA remains under a special weather statement warning of high winds today.

Environment Canada says strong and gusty southwesterly winds will continue Saturday between a low pressure system over far northeastern Ontario and a high pressure area over the southeastern states south of the border.

Winds will gust to 60-70 km/h in most areas. Gusts of 80 km/h are possible near the lake.

The winds will diminish this evening.
