Man drowns in east end swimming pool

Reports suggest he was under water for more than 10 minutes

One person is dead after drowning in an east-end swimming pool.

It  happened Wednesday night around Sheppard and McCowan.

Police say a man, believed to be around 34-years-old, was rushed to hospital after being pulled out of the pool with no vital signs just before nine.

Paramedics performed CPR but were unable to revive him.

It appears he may have been under water for up to ten minutes.

Police say at this point, it appears the drowning was accidental.
