Toronto Police are investigating a crash involving a police cruiser in the city's west end.

It happened on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Keele and Bloor, witht he cruiser responding to a call.

"About 8:30 in the morning, we had officers from 11 division who were responding to a call for a child who had apparently overdosed." said Constable Victor Kwong.

The car never made it through the intersection, instead slamming into a car.

The woman behind the wheel was taken to hospital, but wasn't seriously injured, while the police officer also suffered minor injuries and was 'shaken up' according to Kwong.

The Special Investigations Unit will not be called in, because there wasn't a case of serious injury or death.

But that doesn't mean this investigation is over.

"The investigation is still on going, and what we'll be doing is looking into every single aspect and avenue to see what factors have played in causing this collision".

Kwong says at this point, no charges have been laid.
