A Toronto man has been charged, accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and police worry there could be more victims.
The alleged attack happened in Ottawa, where the man and his alleged victim were both attending the same event. Police couldn't say what the event was, but confirm both were part of the same group.
The girl was allegedly assaulted inside a Rideau St hotel room early on Thursday morning.
Ottawa Police Constable Marc Soucy says from the room, the girl reached out to a friend in Toronto and said she'd been sexually assaulted. The friend called Toronto Police, who in turn alerted their colleagues in the capital.
Ottawa investigators went to the hotel, talked to girl and arrested 47-year-old Ashraf Ali Rao. Rao is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and forcible confinement.
Police believe Rao may have committed sexual assault before, but Soucy wouldn't elaborate.
Anyone with information on this case, or other potential sex assaults is asked to call their local police department.
