Man allegedly scams women on dating web site
Told women of his success, and then 'borrowed' money he never gave back
2 0

A Hamilton man has been arrested, accused of playing on women's heartstrings for his own financial gain.

Halton Police investigators say 30 year old Zeeshan Quereshi posed online, presenting himself as Alex Hermain, and started dating at least two women through an online dating site.

Police say once he got into the relationship, he told the women about how successful he was, and after a period of time, he would ask to borrow money, which he never returned,

It's believed Quereshi scammed approximately $40,000 out of these women.

Halton police say the Hamilton man may have gone by different aliases, and is looking for anyone else who may have had contact with him.

Quereshi is facing charges of Fraud over $5000, Fraud under $5000 and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

He's due in court March 26th in Milton.
