Durham Police have announced an arrest in the death of a 4 year-old boy in Bowmanville.

35 year-old Toronto woman Tanya Berlass has been arrested and charged with failing to provide the necessaries of life in the death of Terrel Vidal. Berlass is set to appear in court Wednesday.

Vidal was found without vital signs on August 28th 2013 at home on Ireland St. in Bowmanville where he was being cared for by a family friend.

His death was deemed a homicide.

The investigation found that cause of death was blunt force trauma that was determined not to be an accident.
