The province's NDP say they have a plan to give you a $100 rebate each year on your hydro bills.
It's part of a list of "priorities" leader Andrea Horwath is unveiling before the minority Liberal budget gets tabled this spring.
Horwath is proposing to merge all hydro agencies to cut down on duplication, stop a billion dollar subsidy for electricity exports to the US and have the auditor look into private power contracts after what happened with the gas plant scandal.
She says it will save money in the system and ultimately, be passed on to ratepayers.
However, Premier Kathleen Wynne doesn't seem warm to the idea.
While Wynne says she understand costs are high, she says NDP's "one off plan" doesn't guarantee reducing energy costs in the long term.
The premier says the Liberal government has been trying to keep costs down, pointing to stopping plans of building new nuclear reactors.
