Risk of falling glass closes streets surrounding Trump Tower

Police say closure could affect morning commute

Toronto Police have closed off the area surrounding the Trump Tower on Bay St, thanks to the potential for falling glass.

The threat of falling glass is on the 52nd floor of the Trump Hotel and police have shut down the area as a precaution.

Bay is closed between Richmond and King in both directions, and Adelaide is shut down between York and Yonge St.

Police believe those closures will be in affect until about 7 a.m. Friday.

Glass has fallen from Trump Tower twice before, once in March 2012, and again in November of 2012.

The building opened its doors to the public January 31st, 2012.
