OPP kick off distracted driving campaign today

The fine for distracted driving goes up from $155 jumps to $280 on March 18.

Provincial police are kicking off a distracted driving campaign today.

OPP revealed last week that distraction is now the number one killer on the roads. 

Statistics show that 78 people died in accidents related to distracted driving last year, compared to 57 impaired driving deaths and 44 speed-related deaths.

The fine for distracted driving goes up from $155 jumps to $280 on March 18.
