Man stabbed at east-end church

EMS says bystanders subdued and held suspect

A man is in serious condition following a stabbing at a church in East York.

According to Toronto EMS, they were called to a Church at Pape and Sammon, just north of Danforth Sunday afternoon, before 3 p.m.

Bystanders were able to subdue the suspect and held on until police came, EMS says.  

The man is believed to be in his 30s. He suffered several stab wounds to the torso.

He was rushed to hospital.
