Brampton Man arrested in church stabbing

The alleged unprovoked attack happened on Sunday afternoon at Calvary Church on Pape...

Toronto Police have charged an 18 year old man in connection to a stabbing on Sunday in the city's east end.

Officers say Yonatan Tesfaldet from Brampton walked into Calvary Church on Pape, around 4:30 on Sunday afternoon and allegedly stabbed a man sitting on the pew next to him.

The 25 year old victim was taken to hospital, where he's fighting for his life.

Tesfaldet is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon in a public space.

Police say the attack appeared to be unprovoked.
