Police lay charges in Saturday's shooting death

Police were called to a building on St Denis Dr, near Don Mills Rd and Eglinton Ave, at about 2:30 p.m.

A 28-year-old man faces a charge of manslaughter after the shooting death of a woman on Saturday. 

Police were called to a building on St Denis Dr, near Don Mills Rd and Eglinton Ave, at about 2:30 p.m.

On scene, officers found the body of a woman who had been shot in the head. There were reports that the shooting may have been accidental. 

Today, police have identified the victim as 26-year-old Vilanong Douangphachanh. 

Achint Ranhotra was arrested on scene and has now been charged with manslaughter.
