A York Regional Police station is not the best place to ask for a bed.

30 year old Aurora man did just that... and then blew more than twice the legal limit...

Just how drunk do you have to be, to drive to a police station, looking for a place to sleep?

Over twice the legal limit.

The scene played out in Vaughan, where a 30 year old Aurora man, parked his car outside the #4 division around 11:30 on Monday night and went in to have a chat with the officers.

Constable Andy Pattenden with York Regional Police says it was during that conversation, that he began demanding officers provide him with a place to sleep for the night.

"During that interaction, officer began to smell alcohol on the man's breath." confirmed Pattenden.

It was only after a breath sample, that police found out the man's blood alcohol level was more than double the legal limit.

"He did end up getting a place to sleep for the night, and a meal as well" said Pattenden, "But he also received two charges, that being impaired driving and over 80mg, and he's also going to get a  complimentary trip to court on April 3rd."

Charged is Vadym Gulenko.
