61 year old Markham woman killed in 3 vehicle pileup

Police say there was about 3-5cms of snow on the ground when they showed up to the scene...

A crash in Markham, on snowy roads on Wednesday morning, has claimed the life of a Markham woman.

York Regional Police were called around 11 to 14th avenue west of 9th line. That is near Markham Road and the 407.

Constable Andy Pattenden says it appears the woman driving one vehicle, lost control and and collected another car and a FedEx truck.

The 61 year old woman was found without vital signs when officers arrived and she never regained consciousness.

Pattenden says there was about 3-5cms of snow on the ground when they arrived, and it was snowing heavily through the investigation.

The woman's name is not being released.
