Police in Durham Region say a collision involving a public transit bus, has claimed the life of a 46 year old Stouffville man.

Spokesperson for Police, Jodie McLean says there was snow on the ground at the time of the crash and it appears the black Ford Ranger pickup lost control and slammed into the bus head on.

It happened on Nichol Avenue, near Kirby Crescent.

The bus was then sent careening into a ravine.

There were three people on the bus and the driver. Two were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police aren't releasing the man's name.
