Ford swearing while wearing St. Patrick's Day beads Saturday night outside city hall

Rob Ford has been seen on video acting strangley yet again.

The latest incident, captured on video Saturday night in tape provided exclusive to Newstalk 1010's Bell Media partner CTV shows the Mayor in a suit wearing St. Patrick's Day beads swearing and acting erratically outside of city hall.

What a surprise !!"... The mayor holds emergency powers still, hence making you look more ignorant than you may be. In your pathetic and weak attempt to come across as intelligent using this, you cannot even get your insults correct. You are showing that you are a buffoon.

When will you Ford Haters Club members get a clue and get a life?! WHAT ROB DOES ON HIS FREE TIME IS NOT YOURS OR ANYONE ELSES BUSINESS.

If you are so worried about the swearing than go after the Rap and Hip Hop crap. Your thought processes are weak if you think those who can read between the lines do not see that you have no point to make with substance about Rob Ford.

And here I though the Liberal member in Kathleen Wynne's party who does child porn was of more pressing concern. How come they're not in the lime-light?

@Rubbie Ford Sigh Yet another person who is hiding behind this media made cliche. Tell me one mayor who works 24/7. Such a waste of words to use this as it is not plausible and is a weak attempt to deflect from Mr Ford's great accomplishments.

It won't work and has not yet. It does though ensure that Rob gets back in.

This election is about sticking it to the Toronto Star, not Rob.

It is inconceivable! This just shows how far off common sense has went. Some pathetic peoples' hate of Mr Ford has caused all the real news to be swept under the carpet

@Mark7 It is the result and the high price of dumping on Ford by any means necessary I'm afraid.
I only wonder if they'll be able to live with the consequences. Not whether Ford remains as mayor or not. But if, say for instance said Liberal child pervert offends, and many wonder why it was never reported, they only need to take a quick look over at who's driving the anti-Ford bandwagon- and see their precious and trusty news media leading the charge.

How many important news that have passed by, or swept under the rug because the focus is on Ford- on whether he'll be taking a piss in the jon, or hanging out with friends isn't customary as mayor? I only shudder to think about it,

Alcohol is one of the most damaging drugs on earth. In your line of reasoning I can say you care not about your children if you drink at all. After all, you are causing great damage to your body and tampering with the longevity of your life.

If you disapprove of Rob Ford than say so. But please don't use his enjoyment of his free time doing what he desires as your selling point. It comes across as that of a hypocrite.

According to Doug Ford this took place at 1:30 am on a saturday night. What is a 40 year old with 2 young kids doing out at that late a time getting drunk and then wandering around at his place of work?

This is not a case of the mayor having one or two beers. He's a big guy and someone his weight can take more than that. He's got a substance abuse problem and judging from how he chooses to spend his time (getting drunk far away from home) he's got other issues going on.

What did he tell Lloyd Robertson last fall, on national TV, after being busted for all of these REALLY questionable things? Tell me. What did he say?

I am done. Never touching it again. No, I am not an alcoholic. I have had a jesus moment. Never touching it again. (and no. I am not quoting exactly. But his words were something like this)

Yet, there have been a few instances where he has been caught on tape wasted. Wait, I thought he said he was done.

The issue, is we cannot trust this guy. He is a liar, a thug, and obviously not a really great role model.

John. Do you have kids? Would you want your kids part of a gang? Would this be something you would have your kids aspire to? I would think no. Then why is it ok for the mayor to be doing all these things. In your mind that is?

AND JUST REMEMBER. I THINK THERE IS MORE TO COME, AND HE IS GOING TO BE CHARGED. AND IF NOT CHARGED, SOME PRETTY INTERESTING THINGS COMING FORWARD.

2.> I distinctly remember Norm Kelly having his staff buy booze for the Superbowl at his house. That petered out pretty quick. I wonder how long they're going to drag out this Ford "gotcha" moment

3.> If the late night circuit down south get wind of this and start using as material, the only people to blame here are the Canadian media who keeps propagating this type of thing. If you don want the name of Toronto embarrassed, stop following the freakin' mayor around to get embarrassing moments. Its as simple as that.
If the man is at a press conference, and he acts this way, then that's fair game.
If he shows up at City Hall drunk, and starts babbling, then ok- you can proabably pass that off as news too.
But to follow the man endlessly just to capture moments like these- REALLY?!?!?!

I heard the inside the provincial Liberals party, that there's a member who's involved in child pornography. As far as I'm concerned, that's more or a public interest, and news worthy, than trying to catch Ford on booze in the night.
You people call Ford nation enablers- but as far as I'm concerned, you people have your priority ass-backwards. And letting legitimate news stories fall by the wayside.

I am not making excuses. But Ford didn't famous (or infamous) worldwide- depending on which side of the fence you're on- on his own.

    9. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 11:48 AM
@Benny8 A liar based on his personal life? Unfortunately that has nothing to do with his performance in office. The problem with the anti-Ford crowd is their inability to separate the two.
I'm not dumping on you...you are a lot better to debate with than the other two jokers with their mindless comments.

I take it from this stand point. You had mayors before who've seemingly had a perfect personal life, but are terrible in office. In this instance, I am referring to David Miller The fact that their terrible in office is what should be considered above all. Having a squeaky clean personal life literally have no effect as his performance as mayor.
What you have here is the flip-side. No one is arguing that Ford's personal life is a walk-in-the-park. I'm not. But his performance in office is what matters most, and what should be judged on. We didn't know about the drinking problems till mid-to-late last year. And yet he was able to accomplish feats that Miller couldn't pull off on his best day.

I'm not deflecting, but I am putting things into perspective. Media publishes stories like these so that the focus is on his personal life, rather than on his performance. Because time and time again, whether it be the audit on his last budget campaign, to the savings he's accomplished at city hall, no one can dump on him there. They may quibble over the amount- but all-in-all, he's performed exceptionally in that regard.

You gotta look at it in a different light BENNY, and see which is more damaging- a politician with an imperfect personal life, but with an above-par performance in office. Or one with a picture-perfect personal life, but with a horrendous performance- and we have many of those politicians around in Ontario at the moment.

These people are public servants- and we judge them based on their performance in office BENNY- not at home.

Much of his substance abuse has taken place "during office hours". Remember the police videos? He has been at public functions in his capacity as mayor and has been seen acting erratically, stoned and/or high. He hangs out with a convicted felon during "office hours". Sorry, he's the one who has blurred his professional and personal life. He's the one who has lied about his substance abuse.

I didn't like Miller but his behaviour as a representative for this city was head and shoulders above Ford's.

Ford's main accomplishments mostly occurred in his first year as mayor. His greatest achievements, labour rest and contracting out of garbage, were actually achieved by Doug Holyday and Minnon-Wong's skills, not Ford's.

He hasn't delivered on his transit promises either. Not one penny in new taxes to pay for subways he said. That's a lie. Our property taxes will have a transit portion added now. His overall plan for subways is a non-starter. He has never explained how he's going to pay for it.

I think the only person on council willing to work with him now is his brother. He's driven most of supporters on council and in his own office away by his disgusting behaviour.

Ford is a failure as mayor. He has to go.

@Benny8 1.> The police have all this "mountains" of evidence- and yet no one makes a move? Doesn't that seem a little strange to you? Unless there's nothing to be guilty about?

2.> You've had TWO city counsellors actually charged with being drunk while driving- should they go to? Are we now banning booze from functions?

3.> So you don't want to attribute the accomplishments to Ford. Are you willing to say in the same breath that the failure's of Miller weren't his? Here, it seems to me that you're saying that in some parts (mainly the personal failures) are a blight to Ford being mayor, but the high points aren't? That's picking and choosing. You can;t have it both ways.

4.> He hasn't delivered on transit? He is the sole reason why Jim Flahrethy approved giving $660 million to the subway project. And he's also the reason why the province decided to go behind the subway project as well. And had he not been embroiled in so many frivolous law suits, complaints, and media witch-hunting, he probably would have gotten more accomplished in this area too . But I'm not going to dabble in the area of "what could've been"

5.> No, there are others who are still willing to work with the mayor on council. The problem at city hall IS council, its size, and those who want to become career politicians by any means necessary.

Ford is not a failure. Council is a failure and needs to be changed and reduced.

@Karl Burgin Keep diggin', Karl! No, really! Right-wing talking points from Drug Ford and the rest of their criminal clan!

Go, Karl! Every time you take an hour to write one of your 'essay's about how great that turd and his Brother are, the more you cement that fact for Torontonians that Ford Nation is a 'nation' of morons.

I can't wait until October! Then, on your monthly trip into Toronto from Kenora, you can shout at the radio when Olivia Chow comes on to talk about saving the city money, keeping it clean and safe, and putting up tolls so trolls like you have to pay to enjoy what's ours to complain about - not ignorant 'out of towners' like yourself who are irrelevant to the city's future.
    3. Benny8 posted on 03/17/2014 12:55 PM
@Karl Burgin 1. Not being charged by the police for a crime is irrelevant. It doesn't negate Ford's disgusting and inappropriate behaviour one iota.

      2. I believe only one was actually charged. One was given a warning. What has that got to do with Ford and his continuous disgusting and inappropriate behaviour?

      3. I believe I said his TWO greatest accomplishments were due to the skills of others. I don't consider anything else Ford did to be important to me as a taxpayer. I never mentioned anything about Miller's failures. Again, what does Miller have to do with Ford's disgusting and inappropriate behaviour?

      4. If what you say is true, then all he got was some money to pay for a part of three subway stops. You must have forgotten his complete plan for subways. Another Ford failure.

      5. Again, you're deflecting. Council IS dysfunctional. Ford is dysfunctional but not because of Council but because of Rob Ford.

Ford is a failure as mayor. He has to go.
    4. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 01:07 PM
@Bobby Flay Do you mean the "out-of-towners" who work in your city so that the business contribute tax dollars to your city-coffers- that end up going towards things like...i don't know....maintenance, services or transportation?
Or are you ready to pay a hike for services when "out-of-towners" have to pass along silly toll expenses to drive into Toronto?

You sound rather silly and ignorant in your post- and you should really think through your logic before you apply fingers to keyboard.
    5. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 01:23 PM
@Benny8 1.> Wynne and her Liberals have been acting disgusting and inappropriate for the last decade- and yet they are always reward by being re-elected in again. AND their actions have been deemed criminal by the OPP, auditors and commissioners. But let's not go there- different level of government and all.

2.> I don't recall Ford being given a warning or being charged. But this all wouldn't be in the limelight if he wasn't followed relentlessly and "videod" all the time. If the same media "standards" were applied to other politicians, as they are applied to Ford, I think you'd quickly lose faith in our system.

3.>And I've already interpreted your statement as that. In which you mean that Ford is no more important, than if any one of his staffers brought forth the idea. In your eyes, you see Ford as being irrelevant and minuscule in any of the accomplishments under his watch. Of which again I inquire, does the same go for any other mayor? If that's the path where we're following the logic, then what's the point of having a mayor? The only reason I bring up Miller is because he's the only one I can make any comparison to help illustrate why Ford is so much better and different from the other politicians. I would gladly bring up Wynne and her Liberals instead, but unfortunately Ford-haters would say that I'm either going off-topic, making comparisons between different levels of government, or some other nonsense to hide the fact that the double-standards which you people are so willing to overlook, is staring you right in the face.

4.>I'm just going by your logic here. So according to you, it's "by the skills of others" that the subway plan and the three stops are a reality- not Ford. You have Glen Murray to thank, since he decided to grand-stand for this, and take all the credit. Since the only reason why the subway won over the LRT was because to win votes for a Liberal seat. Since that is what the Liberals are good at.

My reasoning on the other hand, was that he was bring business into the city to raise revenue. The last trip he took to Austin, Texas, before the whole crack video scandal exploded (thanks to your trusty media and their relentless effort to release court documents) was to bring more money and business into Toronto- which more likely than not, to go towards the subway.
Remember, there was also the vision of bring a casino into Toronto to bring in more revenue too, or in the very least spruce up Woodbine. But you had the Liberals shoot that idea in the knee- not to mention city council voting "no" on any idea Ford brings forth.

5.>City council is dysfuntional on Toronto's public dime. Ford is "dysfunctional" (don't agree with the term) on his own dime. I'm not deflecting here. But I would rather a politician who does he does on his own time, with his own money, instead of using the tax payers.

      ...your turn.

@Karl Burgin He's right Karl. Your argument is ridiculous. You don't live here and even IF you work here, it's OUR infrastructure to deal with, not yours. Sorry. You're just plain wrong. Again.
    7. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 01:32 PM
@teamsport And that's the problem right there. It's your infrastructure to deal with, but its people from the outside coming in to work to use.
If the infrastructure is not up to par, or Toronto decides to introduce tolls to those outside of Toronto, I guarantee you will see business dwindle and move to other municipalities. And I can guarantee you, any deliveries, services or anything else that involves people who are from outside Toronto coming in, YOU will pay the price in the end.
Whether that be the price of food, goods and/or service- you will be shooting yourselves in the foot. And in the end will suffer for it.
Toronto needs money- that's a given. The only way you are going to receive tax dollars to fund your needs are if businesses come, stay and thrive in Toronto. And if people commute from the suburbs in.

You cannot afford for business to leave. Be very careful what you wish for- in your all out campaign to dump on Ford, and anyone who supports him (or in the least defend him)- by any means necessary.

The video in question is just another example of a man who has repeatedly shown he has no self control, no self respect, no respect for his family, no respect for the office of mayor and, by extension, no respect for the people of this city. It's not a right or left issue. It's not about perceived successes and failures. It's about a man who is out of control and needs to seek help before he becomes the late Rob Ford.

Let someone more worthy of the office attempt to run this city while he gets the help he so obviously needs.

@Karl Burgin You again .. defending Rob Ford !

I agree. Rob Ford is not a failure as a Mayor. he was able to get TTC designated as essential service, where no other majors were able to do

He was able to privatised some garbage collection without giving to the union and without a strike too

He got money from the Fed with transit where no other mayor were able to do..

He cut councillors budget initially then councillors got some back so councillors failed the taxpayer..

If Olivia Chow wins and with all the lefty councillors intact..
that will be scary.. read Sue Ann Levy's column in today's Sun highlighting Chow's "accomplishments"..

Do you people want a REPEAT of her accomplishments?

Chow talk a good talk but NDP true and true.. she will USE your money and save hers.. maybe get another subsidised housing.. .
    16. Benny8 posted on 03/17/2014 04:17 PM
@Karl Burgin No. The video we are seeing is of a man with a substance abuse problem. I don't know what your life experience is but for me normal, healthy men with self respect don't need to get drunk or stoned to let their hair down. And they definitely don't do that while at work. And this is not a one-of. It's a one-of-many. The man is sick and unwilling to help himself. Seriously, would you want your daughter to marry this guy? (That's a rhetorical question.)

      He needs to go.
    17. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 04:27 PM
      @Benny8 I do not drink.
But I have European friends who do, and I've seen them get wasted, and do some bizarre things. What Rob Ford is doing in the video does not constitute being drunk. He arguably maybe a bit buzzed, but the actions I watched is of a guy letting his hair down. I've seen similar behavior among people who are sober.
Maybe because Ford admitted to being in drunken stupors, or you've seen under-handed videos displaying such, you are reading into that here as well. I'm telling you, he does not look like someone who is drunk to me.
And from the looks of it, he is leaving in a taxi- he isn't going to city hall.

Let's stop with being over-the-top, and call every situation as it is. He far from drunk here.

@Karl Burgin All these posts and you missed the fact that he's LEAVING City Hall in a drunken stupor?...he was drunk at work and swearing at the kids who wanted a picture with him.

Even his brother Doug has stopped lying about and defending Rob's drinking, today he said that it was a good thing that his brother chose to go home in a taxi. I guess he learned that they're watching him for driving drunk again.
    19. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 04:53 PM
@Peter Please watch the video again. He only swore as he was getting into the cab. And it seemed to be something unrelated to the kid. And I highly doubt that if he knew he was still being video-taped after the picture session, he would have swore.

And again, he doesn't look drunk. But you seem comfortable with the fact that he is being filmed in a private moment, and it being touted as something different.
When the same thing happens to you, please let me know. I would love to use your own logic against you.

@Karl Burgin Actually Karl the mayor PROMISED that the Sheppard LRT would be replaced by a subway. That is the one that will impact traffic, not the SRT replacement. He even commissioned yet another study to see how to build the sheppard subway at a cost of over $100,000, hand picked the person to head it, and then dismissed its results.

The promise to get a subway on Sheppard made at the start of the last mayoral campaign four years ago. Making the SRT replacement a subway was not a promise of his during the last election. So no, he hasn't delivered on his transit promises.

Council has managed to get things passed for over a hundred years. Long before our mayor had the kind of executive power that the Toronto Act grants. Yet Ford has failed on even the most minor policy proposals (like a casino at Woodbine) and the only proposals he's gotten passed have tended to be directly related to something he was elected for (garbage contracting out, ttc made an essential service). Ultimately Ford has been an incompetent leader and that has come out in the form of council overriding him..
