The mayor-in-name-only continues to embarrass himself and his (almost) office.
    What a surprise !!

@REALITY BITES The embarrassment is that "nobodies" are trying to grasp their moment of fame. It is all rather sad that this is their life.

@alex Typical Fraud Nation supporter. Enabling a total d**chbag until the end. Good luck with that, Alex. I actually hope above all things that Chow gets in if only to give you complete morons some comeuppance for what you put us through for the past four years after voting for that criminal train wreck.

@alex I'm getting quite tired of these "gotcha" moments.

You anti-Ford people are enabling the media into thinking that this sort of behaviour is acceptable. They really need to go back to media school for a 101 course of what actual news is...

@r2d2 Totally agree. We should start with Wynne and her Liberal gang of incompetent "thieves", then Chow, then all the dysfunctional members of city council.

It's the headline, the part about ;behaving strangely'. What's strange about Ford's behaviour in the video? Nothing. Strange would be if he were coherent, properly dressed and said 'No comment'. This isn't strange. This is Ford Normal -hammered, incoherent. swearing, dishevelled. Normal. that's all. Just normal....

What a despicable person he is. He claims to care so much about his constituents and the folks in community housing. Just give him a call and he'll be there to help.
Yet he cares nothing for his own kids. He clearly has substance abuse issues. He's clearly heading for an early grave aided and abetted by the adults in his family. Why are they all so intent on leaving these poor kids fatherless?
    1. Mark7 posted on 03/17/2014 02:03 PM
@Mary Do you consume any alcohol at all? If you do just shut up! I do not drink a drop, therefore I am in my right to reply.

Alcohol is one of the most damaging drugs on earth. In your line of reasoning I can say you care not about your children if you drink at all. After all, you are causing great damage to your body and tampering with the longevity of your life.

If you disapprove of Rob Ford than say so. But please don't use his enjoyment of his free time doing what he desires as your selling point. It comes across as that of a hypocrite.

@john John. The issue isn't whether it was st patties day or not. The issue is that he is a perpetual liar and all you supporters buy into his BS. What did he tell Lloyd Robertson last fall, on national TV, after being busted for all of these REALLY questionable things? Tell me. What did he say?

I am done. Never touching it again. No, I am not an alcoholic. I have had a jesus moment. Never touching it again. (and no. I am not quoting exactly. But his words were something like this)

Yet, there have been a few instances where he has been caught on tape wasted. Wait, I thought he said he was done.

The issue, is we cannot trust this guy. He is a liar, a thug, and obviously not a really great role model.

John. Do you have kids? Would you want your kids part of a gang? Would this be something you would have your kids aspire to? I would think no. Then why is it ok for the mayor to be doing all these things. In your mind that is?

AND JUST REMEMBER. I THINK THERE IS MORE TO COME, AND HE IS GOING TO BE CHARGED. AND IF NOT CHARGED, SOME PRETTY INTERESTING THINGS COMING FORWARD.

1.> I can only imagine how long media personnel had to wait before they got this scoop? I'm guessing they bought adult diapers so they wouldn't miss their chance...

2.> I distinctly remember Norm Kelly having his staff buy booze for the Superbowl at his house. That petered out pretty quick. I wonder how long they're going to drag out this Ford "gotcha" moment

3.> If the late night circuit down south get wind of this and start using as material, the only people to blame here are the Canadian media who keeps propagating this type of thing. If you don want the name of Toronto embarrassed, stop following the freakin' mayor around to get embarrassing moments. Its as simple as that.
If the man is at a press conference, and he acts this way, then that's fair game.
If he shows up at City Hall drunk, and starts babbling, then ok- you can proabably pass that off as news too.
But to follow the man endlessly just to capture moments like these- REALLY?!?!?!

I heard the inside the provincial Liberals party, that there's a member who's involved in child pornography. As far as I'm concerned, that's more or a public interest, and news worthy, than trying to catch Ford on booze in the night.
You people call Ford nation enablers- but as far as I'm concerned, you people have your priority ass-backwards. And letting legitimate news stories fall by the wayside.

@Karl Burgin According to CTV news the video was taken by a teenager who, with his mother, had been passing by and asked Ford to pose for a pic. After the pic Ford starting acting weird and was swearing.

Sorry, the time for making excuses for this man has long since past. He has to go.

@Karl Burgin Karl Burgin - The answer to a question NOBODY IS ASKING. Stick to what you know, Karl : Small words and Tim's coffee. Oh, and I'll care about what you say about Toronto's 'mayor' when you actually LIVE in Toronto!

Much of his substance abuse has taken place "during office hours". Remember the police videos? He has been at public functions in his capacity as mayor and has been seen acting erratically, stoned and/or high. He hangs out with a convicted felon during "office hours". Sorry, he's the one who has blurred his professional and personal life. He's the one who has lied about his substance abuse.

I didn't like Miller but his behaviour as a representative for this city was head and shoulders above Ford's.

Ford's main accomplishments mostly occurred in his first year as mayor. His greatest achievements, labour rest and contracting out of garbage, were actually achieved by Doug Holyday and Minnon-Wong's skills, not Ford's.

He hasn't delivered on his transit promises either. Not one penny in new taxes to pay for subways he said. That's a lie. Our property taxes will have a transit portion added now. His overall plan for subways is a non-starter. He has never explained how he's going to pay for it.

I think the only person on council willing to work with him now is his brother. He's driven most of supporters on council and in his own office away by his disgusting behaviour.

Ford is a failure as mayor. He has to go.
    1. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 12:30 PM
@Benny8 1.> The police have all this "mountains" of evidence- and yet no one makes a move? Doesn't that seem a little strange to you? Unless there's nothing to be guilty about?

2.> You've had TWO city counsellors actually charged with being drunk while driving- should they go to? Are we now banning booze from functions?

3.> So you don't want to attribute the accomplishments to Ford. Are you willing to say in the same breath that the failure's of Miller weren't his? Here, it seems to me that you're saying that in some parts (mainly the personal failures) are a blight to Ford being mayor, but the high points aren't? That's picking and choosing. You can;t have it both ways.

4.> He hasn't delivered on transit? He is the sole reason why Jim Flahrethy approved giving $660 million to the subway project. And he's also the reason why the province decided to go behind the subway project as well. And had he not been embroiled in so many frivolous law suits, complaints, and media witch-hunting, he probably would have gotten more accomplished in this area too . But I'm not going to dabble in the area of "what could've been"

5.> No, there are others who are still willing to work with the mayor on council. The problem at city hall IS council, its size, and those who want to become career politicians by any means necessary.

Ford is not a failure. Council is a failure and needs to be changed and reduced.

You got it all the wrong....................The Mayor was using this event to inspect the taxi-cab industry

Was going to test out the vomit surcharge!

The political standards in Etobicoke have always been very low .............. Doug Holyday (he never knew anything), Doug Ford Senior (a guy they were waiting to name a park after so you could take your dog for a dump), Robbie and now Dougie (almost as low as the Ward number he represents)

Quick everyone! To attention! Mark7 has arrived on the board to give us all a lesson in how to conduct oneself online, especially in regards to his favourite criminal, crack addicted friend Rob Ford!
There will be NO criticism of the Ford's - only Liberals and Socialists.
There will be NO talk of Rob's conduct as Mayor - only talk of those who would dare oppose his majesty.
There will be NO talk of Karl Burgin - only specious arguments about how the 'left' is out to destroy civilization.
If you've got a problem with that...TOO BAD!
Mark7 will let you know when and where your opinion matters.
Until then, all bow and let ignorance reign supreme in Fraud Nation!!

Sorry BENNY....was out for lunch. And thanks MARK7.

And now that those are out of the way, I'm not off on a tangerine- I'm actually quite on point.
*I brought up Miller to bring up the comparisons between mayors- and how both are being treated so differently. Even though the ex-mayor was worse for the city than Rob Ford is- in terms of performance.
    *I never mentioned Tim Hudak
*I bring up Wynne, only because we have bigger fish to fry. But instead we are focusing on the personal issues of Rob Ford? Ontario is on the brink of bankruptcy. The OPP, auditors and commissioners are investigating the Liberals EVERY month, and holding hearings. The Liberals want to tax us to death should they get re-elected- and yet all of our media sources are focusing on Ford.
Last November, there was a freakin' mob (made up of paid city workers no less) marching on Nathan Philips Square, wanting to oust the mayor- because he's morally inept? Why isn't this crowd on the front lawn of Queen's Park? After the gas plant debacle, and the deletion of emails, I was sure that it was enough to break the camel's back. The Liberals have been morally inept for over a DECADE- and yet the populace is content. Rob Ford experiments with crack, and goes on drink binges a few times, and we're all in an uproar? Am I missing something here?
Again, the only reason why I bring up Wynne, is to illustrate the point how we (and the media) seriously have our priorities ass-backwards. And we are all going to pay the price for it- literally.
*I bring up Macdonald only to illustrate the fact that he held the highest office in the land, and he was a drunk. People were a lot more "moral" back then, and yet there was no uproar. I'm sure media existed back then too, but you didn't see them tracking his every move. Heck, I didn't even know that was a fact until comparisons were made against him with Rob Ford. I brought up MacDonald only to illustrate the fact that you have a politician who held the highest office in the land, was a drunk, and there wasn't much uproar. On the other hand, you have a mayor who is not a drunk, but does go on binges- and we're wringing our hands in fret. Again, it's all about perspective- and we should be viewing this in its proper perspective- instead of blowing things out of proportion.
    1. Karl Burgin posted on 03/17/2014 03:29 PM
@Karl Burgin *The video we are seeing is of a man who is letting his hair down, and acting natural. Something we should not be faulting him for. And certainly something we should not be recording and selling to news media. And DEFINITELY something the news media should reserve better judgement, and not be counting this as news.
If this is how Ford acts when he is comfortable among friends, and there aren't cameras in his face, then so be it. He deserves to have moments during his "24/7" position, where has to be able to remove the stick out of his ass for a bit.

So Russia has started absorbing it's neighbours again, there was a huge gas explosion in New York, and a major car company has recalled 1.5 million vehicles for safety reasons. But forget all that, because it's far more important that the mayor of Toronto is weird.

    You're all sick.

@John John, maybe you're new to Toronto. There are a lot of ignorant people(media included) in the city of Toronto that think a human being(cause that's what Rob Ford is) out drinking with his friends, is a bigger world event than any of the aforementioned real news stories in your comment. I apologize of their behaves. Ignorance is bliss.
