WATCH: Taxi driver & passengers have close call with falling scaffolding

      A lucky escape for three people inside a taxi driving along Richmond Street on Tuesday afternoon.

      A section of scaffolding came crashing down from a condo development at Peter Street, landing on the trunk of the car.

      Toronto Fire says the driver and his 2 passengers were not hurt.

      It wasn't just one section of scaffold that fell, but there were two laying across the road, both several storeys tall.

      Toronto Fire officials say it looks like workers on the site were raising scaffolding into place when something gave way but that has not been confirmed.

      The Ministry of Labour has been called in to find out what went wrong.

      Richmond Street was closed at Peter Street for several hours for the investigation and clean-up.
