Update: Southbound DVP closed for fatal incident

A closure of the Don Valley Parkway is expected to last through Wednesday morning's rush hour.

Just after 6:15 a.m., Toronto police say a person was struck on the southbound lanes of the DVP near the Gerrard St. bridge.

Toronto police closed the southbound DVP at Bayview/Bloor around 6:30 for the investigation. The death is not believed to be suspicious.

Toronto police Cst. Clint Stibbe told NewsTalk 1010, they expect the closure to remain in effect throughout the morning rush hour.
