UPDATE: Man dead after house fire, neighbour helps rescue kids

Fire in Brampton near Queen and Bramalea broke out around 6:15 a.m.

A father has died after being pulled from a house fire in Brampton. He was taken to hospital in grave condition where he later died.

The fire broke out on Goodwood Rd. near Bramalea and Queen around 6:15 a.m. Friday.

His two boys were helped out of the burning home by a neighbour. All three were treated for smoke inhalation.

The neighbour was out walking and noticed the fire and heard someone banging on a door and helped the two boys get out of the house.

Firefighters pulled the boys father from the home without vital signs and performed CPR after he was overcome by smoke.

The two boys and the neighbour were treated for smoke inhalation.

It's not known what caused the fire, or if there were working smoke alarms inside.
