Police are looking for two male suspects after a break-in in Vaughan led to a high-speed chase

Police are looking for two male suspects after a break-in in Vaughan led to a high-speed chase that continued as far as Hamilton, where it's alleged a stolen vehicle was abandoned.

York Regional Police say officers responded to an alarm at a video games store in Vaughan, shortly after 3 a.m. Monday, and saw a vehicle fleeing the area with at least two occupants.

Police say the vehicle was intercepted travelling east on Highway 407 by a marked patrol vehicle and a helicopter but the driver did not stop and fled at high speed.

The patrol vehicle ended its pursuit but the helicopter kept the vehicle in view as it fled south on Highway 400, then west on Highway 401 before exiting on Highway 25 in Milton.

Police say officers in the helicopter saw the suspects drive to Oakville where they stopped at a gas station and put gas in their vehicle, then left without making any attempt to pay.

The suspects were seen driving to Hamilton, where police say they were observed leaving the vehicle and entering an apartment building.

Police say the vehicle has been located and allege it is a Honda Civic that was stolen from Mississauga and that stolen merchandise was found inside.

One of the suspects is described as white, 20 to 25 years old, heavy set with dark hair and wearing a grey hoodie, dark jeans and gloves.

Anyone with information is asked to contact York Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
