UPDATE: Fatal house fire in Mississauga

Peel EMS say that one person has been pronounced dead at the scene of a house fire near Winston Churchill and Royal Windsor Dr

Police say that a man has been pronounced dead at the scene of a house fire in Mississauga.

The blaze broke out in a home on Widemarr Rd near Winston Churchill and Royal Windsor Dr at about 6:40 p.m.

Const Fiona Thivierge says they believe the victim is the home owner, but he has not yet been identified. 

Firefighters have done a sweep of the home and say that there was no one else inside.
