Brazeau already faces criminal charges, including those linked to the Senate expense scandal that rocked Ottawa last summer

Senator Patrick Brazeau has been arrested again.

Police say no charges have been filed but CBC quotes a police source as saying he was picked up around 4:00am Thursday on a residential street in Gatineau, Quebec and faces charges including uttering death threats, assault and possession of cocaine.

Brazeau is no stranger to police.

14 months ago, he was taken in custody and accused of domestic violence and sexual assault, including pushing the woman down a flight of stairs.

That case has yet to work its way through the courts.  The day after that arrest Prime Minister Stephen Harper tossed Brazeau out of the Conservative caucus.

It was the night before that first arrest that CTV broke the story about the Senator's questionable living expenses charged to taxpayers.

He was suspended from the Senate without pay in November and two months ago was charged along with former Senator Mac Harb with one count each of fraud and breach of trust over expense claims.

Of late, Brazeau has been the day manager of a strip club in Gatineau.

Ho hum ... yet more proof of Stephen Harper's total lack of good judgement when it comes to appointing Con friends... or in governing, for that matter.
Time for you to grab up some corporate directorships state side and get out of town, Harpie.

@Fact Provider The funny thing is that this guy last November was on CFRB in the morning (I think with either Moore or Agar), and made himself out to be a saint.
But as to Harper not knowing (or suspecting) any of this- I highly doubt it. The man is a control freak (and I'm not being derogatory here)- but to then plead ignorance of what's going on, IS a bit of a stretch to say the least.

I'm sorry to say, but concerning internal matters on both provincial and Federal level- the Conservatives really need to get their act together.

@Fact Provider Harper appointed Brazeau at age 33 to be a Senator for most of his life. His appointments and his so called fair elections act will come back to bite him because the Liberals under Trudeau will out fundraise. Though it's the Cons that have been caught cheating that want to take away the powers from the Chief Electoral Officer from going after their Republican tactics.
