Thieves couldn't crack store safe

Barrie Police are looking for some smooth criminals who allegedly stole $15,000 worth of hair-removal appliances.

Investigators say burglars were actually after the safe at the a north end store.

The thieves are thought to have cut power to the building, which disabled the alarm system. Next, they cut a hole in the building's rear wall to get into the stock area. But they couldn't crack the safe.

So as a kind of consolation prize, they grabbed a bunch of No-No hair removal products from the front of the store and took off.  The appliances sell for about $300 each.

Police were able to pick up some physical evidence from the scene. It's been sent off for forensic testing.
