The transportation minister says it wouldn't be fair to try to determine who's personal information to release when they've lost their driver's licence.

Glen Murray made the comments after a report revealed over 300 driving instructors have lost their licenses over the past three years for inappropriate or illegal activity. It ranges from selling alcohol to students to visiting a strip club during lessons.

Murray says it's up to the province's privacy commissioner to determine what information is released.

He says whether someone is an instructor or not, the province keeps personal information associated with things like driver's licences confidential. He says they take that very seriously.
