Blue Mountain sets a new record

Ski resort in Collingwood takes advantage of the winter that will never end...

It's a record setting year at Blue Mountain in Collingwood.

For the 140th day this season, the ski hill is open for business.

"Right now we have 12 runs open for day skiing from 9am till 4:30pm" said Ashley Boland, manager of Public Relations at Blue Mountain.

Over the winter that seemingly wouldn't end, the resort saw 145cms of natural snow fall, and there's still a 60cm base on the runs that are still open.

They opened back on November 30th, closed for a couple days after that, but then have been running the lifts on all days since then.

But if you had hopes and dreams of golfing and skiing on the same day, you're out of luck.

Boland says the golf courses aren't expected to open until early next month.
