There were many hugs outside a funeral home in Scarborough today as family and friends of Andrea White grieved her sudden death.

A visitation was held at the Jerrett Funeral Home for the 33-year-old mother of four.

Shortly after the visitation got underway, dark clouds moved in and it started to rain as groups of people continued to arrive to pay their respects.

Just over a week ago, shots rang out at a Scarborough housing complex. Andrea White was in her garage with some family and friends.

Police say a white SUV drove by White's home and shots were fired out the passenger side window.

Police have arrested and charged two men, including former local basketball star Alwayne Bigby, with first-degree murder.

They say they believe the pair was upset about the death of a friend on the same street a year ago.

Family members say White was one of the strongest women they have had the honour of knowing and loving.

Another visitation will be held on Tuesday and a funeral will take place on Wednesday morning.
