Fire in Danforth Ave. building under investigation

The 2-alarm blaze broke out before 4 a.m. on Monday

A 2-alarm fire in the city's east end sent a number of residents out into the cold early Monday morning.

It began just before 4 a.m. at a building on Danforth Avenue, west of Dawes Road but east of Victoria Park.

The fire began on the ground floor of a restaurant and investigators are still looking into what caused it.

No one was injured, but residents were evacuated and sheltered in TTC buses. Some of them will not be able to return for some time.
