Halton Regional Police say the young Oakville boy who was left fighting for life on Monday when he got tangled in a garage door will make a full recovery.

The 9-year old's parents told investigators on Tuesday that their son is off life support.

The boy, whose name is Jack, had been taken to Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children in critical condition after the incident.

Police calling it "an unfortunate accident'' and say their investigation has revealed nothing suspicious.

According to Sgt. Chantal Corner, Jack's hoodie got caught by the garage door handle as he ducked under the door to retrieve his bike.

The garage door opener did not stop and the boy was left dangling for an unknown amount of time until passersby got him down and performed CPR.

Authorities say Jack's parents were home at the time but they were not outside with him.

Corner says it is not clear how long he will need to stay at the hospital.
