Doctor tells CBC Rob Ford is in rehab

Mayor an in-patient at unnamed North American facility

The CBC reports a doctor has confirmed to them that Rob Ford is checked into a live-in rehab centre somewhere in North America.

Doug Ford approached the CBC Friday after promising evidence that the mayor is being treated for alcohol abuse. The CBC says with Rob Ford's consent, they spoke with a supervising doctor at the facility where he's getting help.

There were questions about whether or not the mayor was in fact in treatment with supposed Rob Ford sightings around the GTA in recent days. The mayor told Newstalk 1010 host and Toronto Sun columnist Joe Warmington rehab has been "amazing."

On May 1, Rob Ford took a private plane from Buttonville Airport to Chicago and after a discussion with customs withdrew his application to enter the US.

The CBC reports Ford flew back to Toronto the same day, was picked up by his city councillor brother and driven directly to the unnamed facility where he is now an in-patient.

After a day in rehab, Ford was transferred to a hospital on May 3 for what a doctor tells the CBC was "concurrent care".

On May 7, Ford returned to the treatment facility and has been there ever since.

The doctor tells the CBC Ford was supervised during his trips to and from the hospital and that they "have every assurance and confidence he was nowhere else."

Better there (in rehab) than where John Tory should be next election.

Folks, please ignore the report in The Sun's all crap. Rob is at the cottage in Muskoka and is not going outside because of the black flies. The "doctor" considers this to be "in-patient" care. He did pop into the Heart Attack Grill for a burger, so this proves everything I say is true because the servers dress like nurses, and the cooks have stethoscopes around their necks.

So, please listen to what I say...have I ever lied to you before?

Check out the Saturday Star, page 1N1, great article on Rob Ford after his return from the Kimmel show.

Required reading for Ford Nation zealots.

Wow! How BAD is your withdrawal that it can't be handled in the facility specifically designed for it & a 4 day hospital transfer is required??? How typical is "concurrent care"?

One day, ten or twenty or forty years from now, this ridiculous farce is going to end up with the Toronto Star running a weekly feature on the state of Rob Ford's grave, because apparently there is nothing in the world more interesting than this guy.
