Police are looking for a 31 year old man, they consider armed and dangerous, in a shooting in Thornhill on Thursday night.

Officers with York Regional Police say Sirvon Edwards should not be approached if seen. Instead, they ask you to simply call 9-1-1.

A 22 year old man was shot outside of a pub around 11 o'clock on Thursday evening, following an argument between a group of people.

The victim is expected to live.

Cops are searching for Sirvon Edwards, who they say is known to police. He is described as male, black, last seen wearing a white, hooded sweatshirt that was covered by a black jacket with a large round-shaped logo on the back. He has several tattoos, including “187” on his left forearm, the words “Loved by few” on his right wrist and “Hated by many” on his left wrist, as well as a cross with the words “Remember me” tattooed on the underside of his right forearm.

Newstalk1010 has learned that Edwards was arrested in a fatal 2003 shooting at Canada's Wonderland. He later accepted a plea bargain of weapons charges, and spent about a year in jail.

Police say they have arrested two women, a 23 year old and a 54 year old and have charged them with accessory after the fact to attempted murder. Officers say it's believed they know Edwards and allegedly helped him following the shooting.
